Air France announced on Tuesday the launch of five new Algerian destinations on Air France from Paris-Orly, Marseille and Nice. Additionally, Transavia will operate 12 new routes to six Algerian destinations from Paris-Orly, Lyon and Montpellier.
Today, Air France announced the launch of 17 new routes to Algeria from Paris and the French regions. The new routes include service to Algiers, Bejaia, Constantine, Oran, Setif and Tlemcen. In total, the carrier will offer up to 31 new weekly flights to Algeria, including five new routes to Algiers and Oran. Starting April 4, 2020, Air France will offer up to 14 weekly year round flights from Paris-Orly to Algiers and up to four weekly Toulouse-Algiers flights. Nice-Algiers flights will be offered up to twice weekly between July 14th and August 27, 2020. Additionally, the airline will offer up to four weekly year round flights to Oran from Toulouse starting April 4, 2020.
With the new service, Air France will double their capacity to Algiers from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly with 49 weekly flights, thereby opening the airline’s vast medium and long-haul routes to many more guests. The new routes will be operated with Airbus A318s and A320s equipped with 131 and 171 seats respectively. Customers can book flights on the new routes from February 24, 2020.
Also, Air France Group subsidiary Transavia will be offering 445,000 seats between France and Algeria for the summer 2020 season with the launch of 12 routes to six destinations. The offer announced today is in addition to the flights operated since 2019 from Nantes to Algiers and Oran and Air France will also triple frequencies between Lyon and Algiers with six weekly flights. The new Transavia routes will be operated with Boeing 737-800s equipped with 189 seats and tickets will be available from February 19, 2020.
