On Wednesday (December 15, 2021), Air Canada announced an expansion of the partnership between the Aeroplan loyalty program and Uber Canada. Starting today, Aeroplan members in Canada will be able to earn Aeroplan points when making Uber Eats and Uber Rides purchases after linking their accounts. Members will earn one Aeroplan point for every dollar spent on Uber Eats orders over $25 in Canada, as well as one point for each dollar spent on Uber Airport Rides (all ride types including Uber X), as well as Premium Rides in Canada and the U.S., including Uber XL, Uber Comfort, Uber Black, Uber Select, etc. Additionally, Aeroplan members will earn two points per dollar spent on Uber Premium Airport Rides in Canada and the U.S. After taking 10 Uber rides in Canada or the U.S., members will also receive a CAD $20 Air Canada flight credit.

In today’s announcement, Air Canada’s Vice President – Aeroplan, Scott O’Leary, said,

“We are thrilled to team up with Uber Canada to build a more rewarding program for our members. Whether you're enjoying a night in or going out on the town, Uber and Aeroplan will bring you one step closer to your next reward.”

Uber Eats Canada’s GM, Lola Kassim, added,

“Our expanded partnership is the ultimate win-win experience for Aeroplan members. Every trip taken or meal ordered has the added benefit of helping members book their next adventure. This, along with perks from Uber Pass, sets a new standard for loyalty programs.”

Today’s partnership expansion is an extension to a previous announcement from last September, where Aeroplan Credit Cardholders received a free Uber Pass membership, unlocking $0 Delivery Fees on eligible food and grocery orders, ride discounts and additional perks.

Aeroplan members will also enjoy additional benefits including an extra 1,000 Aeroplan bonus points for new Uber Eats users when they place their first order and 1,000 Aeroplan bonus points for new Uber riders for their first ride. Additionally, all Aeroplan members can redeem points for Uber gift cards and a three-month Uber Pass membership at the Aeroplan eStore. Linked members can redeem both at a discounted number of points.
