Air Canada Inaugurates New Service Between Montreal and Porto, Portugal

Air Canada has today announced the launch of new service between Montreal and Porto in Portugal, with the inaugural flight taking to the skies on Wednesday, June 4th.  The new route complements existing service from Montreal and Toronto to Lisbon.

On Thursday (June 5, 2025), Air Canada announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Montreal and Porto, Portugal, which took to the skies yesterday evening (June 4th), and arrived in Porto this morning.  Porto becomes the carrier’s second destination in Portugal, complementing existing service from Montreal and Toronto to Lisbon.  The new Porto route will be operated with an Airbus A330-300, featuring Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins. 


In Thursday’s announcement, Air Canada’s EVP & Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo, Mark Galardo, said,


“We are delighted to be returning to Porto, marking our newest Europe route this summer and second destination in Portugal.  We design routes like this one to appeal to our customers throughout our North American network, with convenient travel options at our Montreal hub.  A world heritage city and gateway to Portugal’s northern region, Porto offers an array of history, culture, outdoor adventures, and gastronomic experiences.  Whether customers are visiting friends, family or exploring Southern Europe, we look forward to welcoming our customers onboard our Portugal flights.”

Air Canada also launched new service to Naples in May, and resumed service between Ottawa and London Heathrow in April.  This week the carrier will also start new service between Toronto and Prague, and at the end of June, Montreal-Edinburgh service.
