On Wednesday (July 19, 2023), Air Canada announced the rollout of more onboard product and service improvements, offering additional guest comfort and convenience. The upgrades include an expanded inflight food and beverage offer, more family-friendly inflight entertainment (IFE) options, as well as improvements to the Air Canada App. The latest updates are part of the airline’s ‘More to Travel’ initiative which includes a series of ongoing improvements underway across Air Canada’s travel products and services.

In today’s announcement, Air Canada’s Managing Director – Products and Services, Jacqueline Harkness, said,

“At Air Canada, we know that a comfortable and enjoyable onboard experience is an important part of our customers' travel journey. We’re pleased to offer more food and beverage options across a variety of tastes and preferences including products not available today on any Canadian airline, as we continue improving Air Canada's overall onboard experience.”

As part of the onboard service update, Air Canada has added Earth’s Own oat milk, a Canadian non-dairy milk alternative, Blue Moon Belgian White and Hop Valley IPA craft beers, and Vizzy Strawberry Orange Mimosa hard seltzer. Wine lovers traveling on international flights in Air Canada Signature Class can also enjoy Rosé from Provence, France and Aperol Spritz. Some new menu options for Premium Economy and Economy Class guests on select flights include butter chicken with rice pilaf and cauliflower peas marsala.

Through an extensive partnership with Mattel, Air Canada will also be the only Canadian airline offering some of the most popular kids’ shorts for inflight entertainment, with even more partners to be added soon.

Commenting on the additional family-friendly IFE options, Air Canada’s Managing Director of Product Design, John Moody, said,

“Air Canada is proud to be the only Canadian airline offering exclusive Mattel favourites like Hot Wheels in the City, Thomas and Friends: Learning with Thomas, as well as episodes of Barbie's vlog—which comes hot on the heels of the most anticipated movie release of the summer. At the height of family vacation season, parents and kids can enjoy their flight with an unparalleled range of inflight entertainment options including some of the most popular and well-loved kids' shows.”

Air Canada has also updated the Air Canada App, with the update providing more features and convenience, including mobile boarding passes that are easier to use at security and during boarding with seamless updates. Additionally, passport details of Aeroplan members will now be linked to their profile, streamlining international check-in. The app improvements also include easier airport navigation with integrated maps of Key Air Canada and Star Alliance airports, as well as the ability for Air Canada Signature Class and Premium Economy customers to pre-order inflight meals on select international flights departing Canada.
