Air Arabia Takes Delivery of their First Airbus A320neo

Air Arabia has welcomed their first Airbus A320neo, as part of a 120 aircraft Airbus order placed in 2019, including 73 A320neos, 27 A321neos. and 20 A321XLRs.

On Monday (September 29, 2025), Air Arabia celebrated the delivery of their first Airbus A320neo.  This delivery marks the start of the carrier’s 120 aircraft order with Airbus placed in 2019, which includes 73 A320neos, 27 A321neos. and 20 A321XLRs.  The brand-new A320neo joins Air Arabia’s current fleet of 83 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, and will enter passenger revenue service on October 1, 2025 with a flight between Sharjah and Bangkok.  Air Arabia’s first A320neo was welcomed with a special ceremony at Sharjah International Airport in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani, Chairman of Air Arabia, HE Sheikh Khalid Bin Issam Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation, HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, and Mr. Adel Al Ali, Air Arabia’s Group CEO along with other dignitaries.


In Monday’s announcement, Air Arabia’s Chairman, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani, said,


“The delivery of the first aircraft from our Airbus order marks an important milestone in Air Arabia’s growth and fleet development strategy.  As we continue to strengthen our fleet, we remain committed to operational efficiency, innovation and sustainability, while ensuring comfort and value for our passengers.


“Over the years, our existing fleet and cabin configuration has supported reliable operations and passenger experience.  The introduction of the A320neo will further enhance our operational performance and support our continued expansion into new markets.  We remain focused to adopting the latest technology to drive efficiency across all aspects of our operations.”


Powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines and equipped with Airbus’s advanced Sharklets, the A320neo delivers a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions.  The aircraft is configured with a single-class cabin layout featuring 174 seats, offering one of the most generous Economy Class seat pitches in the industry.  Air Arabia’s new A320neo is also equipped with ‘SkyTime,’ the airline’s complimentary in-flight streaming service. Onboard, guests can also enjoy ‘SkyCafe,’ Air Arabia’s onboard menu, further enhancing the passenger experience.
