Air Arabia Resumes Direct Service Between Sharjah and Damascus, Syria

Air Arabia has celebrated the restart of nonstop flights between Sharjah and Damascus. Prior to departure on Thursday, July 10th, a special ceremony was held at Sharjah International Airport.

On Thursday (July 10, 2025), Air Arabia announced the restart of direct flights between Sharjah (UAE) and Damascus (Syria). Prior to departure Thursday morning, a special ceremony was held at Sharjah International Airport, which was attended by His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, Air Arabia Group Chief Executive Officer Adel Al Ali, and Mr. Ziad Yahya Zaher Edin, Chargé d’Affaires of the Consulate General of the Syrian Arab Republic in the UAE. Likewise, upon arrival at Damascus International Airport, the flight was welcomed with a special ceremony attended by His Excellency Hasan Ahmed Mohammed Sulaiman Alshehhi, UAE Ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, along with the airport senior management and other distinguished guests.
This marks the resumption of Air Arabia’s operations to the Syrian capital, reinforcing the carrier’s commitment to expanding regional connectivity, while providing customers with affordable and convenient air travel options. The direct Sharjah-Damascus route will operate twice daily with double daily, offering passengers more flexibility and seamless travel between the UAE and Syria.
