Air Arabia Announces Global COVID-19 Insurance Coverage for Eligible Passengers

The airline will offer complimentary global COVID-19 coverage for all customers traveling on Air Arabia flights between Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Coverage is automatically included with ticket purchases and will remain valid for 31 days of departure.

Today (October 6, 2020), Air Arabia announced the launch of global COVID-19 insurance coverage for passengers traveling between Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. The complimentary coverage is automatically included with bookings and remains valid for 31 days after departure. The insurance covers COVID-19 related medical expenses as well as quarantine costs. In Tuesday’s announcement, Air Arabia Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Adel Al Ali, said,


“The new COVID-19 global assistance cover underlines our commitment to customers in helping them travel with confidence and additional ease of mind. At Air Arabia, we always ensure that every step of our customer journey remains safe, seamless and driven by added value to customers.”


Air Arabia guests diagnosed with COVID-19 during their trip can contact the carrier’s 24/7 Global Assistance Cover Team.


Since the inset of the pandemic, Air Arabia has upgraded the guest journey with the highest international safety measures. All Air Arabia Aircraft are fitted with HEPA cabin filters which remove airborne particulates as the air is refreshed every two to three minutes. The carrier reminds all guests to remain apprised of the latest travel conditions and requirements for both their departure and destination countries.


Air Arabia operates a mix of scheduled, repatriation, charter and cargo flights across their hubs in the UAE Morocco and Egypt. In July 2020, Air Arabia and Etihad Airways launched Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital’s first low-cost carrier (LCC). The carrier has also enhanced the customer experience journey with health and safety measures that are aligned with the highest international standards. Additionally, all airport bases have implemented health and safety protocols to ensure the health and well-being of Air Arabia’s guests throughout their travels.
