Aeromexico Resumes Service Between Mexico City and Morelia

From September 19, 2022, Aeromexico will resume service between Mexico City and Morelia, Michoacan. The route will be operated twice weekly with an Embraer E190 aircraft. Tickets for the route will be on sale from June 25, 2022.

On Wednesday (June 22, 2022), Aeromexico announced that they will resume twice weekly service between Mexico City and Morelia, Michoacan from September 19, 2022. The route will be operated with an Embraer E190 aircraft and tickets will be on sale starting June 25, 2022. With the resumed route, as of September, Aeromexico’s network will expand to 93 routes, including 51 domestic routes. Aeromexico originally launched service to between Mexico City and Michoacan in 2007.


Morelia is noted for its spectacular beauty, and was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991. Morelia’s historic city center has the most monuments catalogued as architecturally relevant in all of Mexico. The city has become a favorite destination for social events, with its streets, landscapes and historic precincts serving as a picturesque backdrop.


Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B. de C.V. (Aeromexico) is Mexico’s global airline and maintains their primary hub at Mexico City International Airport’s Terminal 2. The airline’s network includes service to the U.S., Canada, Central America, South America, Asia and Europe. The Group’s fleet is comprised of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, 737s and Embraer E190s. At the end of 2021, the carrier had a fleet of 118 aircraft, which will increase to 147 by the end of 2022.
