Aeromexico will launch new direct service between Monterrey and Madrid with three weekly flights from December 16, 2021. The new service will be operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, complementing existing service to Madrid from Mexico City and Guadalajara.
On Wednesday (August 11, 2021), Aeromexico announced the launch of new thrice-weekly service between Monterrey and Madrid starting December 16, 2021. With the new service, Aeromexico will offer over 20 weekly flight from Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara to the Spanish capital, with more than 13,300 weekly seats, a 43 percent capacity increase between Mexico and Spain. The Monterey-Madrid route will be operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with fares starting at $599 in Economy and $1,999 in Premier Class. Aeromexico currently offers service on 81 domestic and international routes and also ships cargo to Mexico, the U.S., Canada, Central and South America, Asia and Europe.
In Thursday’s announcement, the State of Nuevo Leon’s Secretary of Economy and Labor, Roberto Russildi Montel, said,
“Nuevo Leon is a state with substantial tourism development, both in business and leisure. We have more than 4,000 foreign companies established in the state, many of them coming from Europe and Asia and mainly from the United States. When we introduce the attractions that Nuevo Leon has to draw investment, one of them is the talent of its people, then there is the infrastructure that the state has to facilitate doing business. Regarding this nonstop service between Monterrey and Europe, society was requesting this route as it will help increasing business meetings and locals who travel to Europe. Nuevo Leon has been characterized for having the highest foreign investment, and this has required traveling from and to all over the world. Now, it will be easier to come from this city to arrive directly to our state.”
Aeromexico’s Executive Vice President, Legal and Institutional Relations, Sergio Allard, added,
“I thank the government of Nuevo Leon, Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte and all our strategic partners for making this new route possible. Monterrey is one of our main hubs, and with this announcement, we will have around 100 weekly flights to this destination. Connecting Monterrey with Europe will definitely improve connectivity for passengers and air cargo transport.”
