Earlier this week, Aeroflot announced that they will be launching new service from Krasnoyarsk in the heart of Siberia to Tyumen. The new route will be serviced daily starting March 29, 2020 and will be operated with a Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100). Aeroflot recently created a new international hub in Krasnoyarsk which will become the carrier’s second hub and a base for Boeing 737 and SSJ-100 aircraft. Krasnoyarsk is a major economic center in Siberia and the new base is part of the Aeroflot Group’s Strategy 2023, with the goal of carrying up 100M passengers by the airline’s 100th anniversary. The strategic location of Krasnoyarsk will allow Aeroflot to offer direct flights to cities in the Urals, Siberia and southern Russia.

Aeroflot operates a fleet of 54 SSJ-100 short and medium haul regional jets which have a range of 2400 kilometers. The aircraft are configured with 12 Business, 5 Space+ and 70 Economy Class seats. The daily flight to Tyumen (SU 2866) departs Krasnoyarsk at 8:05AM and arrives in Tyumen at 8:50AM local time. The return flight (SU 2867) departs Tyumen at 9:45AM and arrives in Krasnoyarsk at 2:15PM local time.

Russia’s award-winning flag carrier is a SkyTeam global alliance partner and serves 149 destinations in 53 countries with a fleet of 247 aircraft. Aeroflot carried 35.8M passengers in 2018 on their flagship brand flights and a total of 55.7M passengers when all Aeroflot Group subsidiaries are included. The carrier holds a four start rating with Skytrax and was named ‘Best Airline in Eastern Europe” by Skytrax for the eighth time in 2019. Aeroflot has also received a five star rating from APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) and has been awarded five stars for punctuality by UK global travel data provider OAG.
