AerCap Reports First Quarter 2026 Net Profit of $818 Million or $4.96 per Diluted Share

AerCap Holdings has reported a first quarter 2026 net profit of $818 million or $4.96 per diluted share on a year-over-year increase in revenue of 2.0 percent to $1.68 billion.

On Wednesday (April 29, 2026), AerCap Holding reported their first quarter financial results for the period ending March 31, 2026. The company reported a first quarter 2026 net profit of $818 million or $4.96 per diluted share on a year-over-year increase in revenue of 2.0 percent to $1.68 billion. The company’s basic lease rents were $1.68 billion for the first quarter of 2026, compared with $1.65 billion for the same period in 2025. Maintenance rents and other receipts were $190 million for the first quarter, compared with $146 million for the same period in 2025. Net gain on sale of assets for the period was $291 million, relating to 41 owned assets sold for $1.5 billion, compared with $177 million for the same period last year relating to 35 owned assets sold for $683 million. Other income for the first quarter of 2026 was $79 million, compared with $105 million for Q1 2025.
In Wednesday’s announcement, AerCap’s CEO, Aengus Kelly, said,
“We are pleased to report another record quarter for AerCap, delivering GAAP net income of $818 million and adjusted net income of $889 million, or $5.39 per share. Despite recent geopolitical developments, demand for aviation assets remains robust, supported by sustained consumer demand for air travel and ongoing supply constraints. During the quarter, we closed 286 transactions and achieved an 87% lease extension rate. Reflecting this strong performance, we have increased our 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $14.50 and announced a new $1.0 billion share repurchase program.”
At March 31, 2026, AerCap’s portfolio included 3,569 aircraft, engines and helicopters that were owned, on order or managed. The average age of the company’s owned passenger aircraft fleet as of March 31, 2026 was 7.4 years (5.5 years for new technology aircraft and 15.4 years for current technology aircraft) and the average remaining contracted lease term was 7.1 years.
