AerCap Orders Five Additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners

AerCap has today ordered five additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, increasing their total fleet of 787s to 125 owned and on order.

On Tuesday (July 19, 2022), from the 2022 Farnborough International Airshow, AerCap announced an order for five additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. With the new order, AerCap expands their owned an on order 787 fleet to 125 airplanes.

In today’s announcment, AerCap’s Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Anderson, said,


“AerCap is the world’s largest 787 customer and we are very pleased to strengthen that position with this order for five additional aircraft. This transaction is in line with our portfolio strategy of investing in the most in-demand new technology assets and will help us continue to support our airline customers meet their sustainability commitments.”


Also commenting on the incremental 787-9 order, Boeing’s SVP – Commercial Sales and Marketing, Ihssane Mounir, said,

With its unparalleled fuel efficiency and passenger appeal, the 787 Dreamliner family is playing a major role in sustaining, reopening and pioneering new routes in the long-haul travel market.”
