From May 19, 2023, Aer Lingus will launch new transatlantic service between Dublin and Cleveland, Ohio (U.S.). The new service expands the carrier’s transatlantic routes to 15, and Aer Lingus will be the only European carrier offering direct service to/from Cleveland.
On Wednesday (September 28, 2022), Aer Lingus announced the launch of new direct service between Dublin and Cleveland, Ohio (U.S.) from May 19, 2023. The new route expands the carrier’s transatlantic offer to 15 routes, and Aer Lingus will become the only European airline offering direct service to and from Cleveland. In addition to 15 transatlantic routes between Ireland and North America, the carrier will also offer three long-haul services from their Manchester, UK base. Aer Lingus’ guests traveling from Cleveland will also enjoy seamless onward connectivity via Dublin to 20 key European destinations, including London, Paris, Manchester, Düsseldorf, Brussels, Lyon, Amsterdam and Edinburgh, among others.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Aer Lingus’ Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, Reid Moody, said,
“This is a significant announcement for Aer Lingus as we deliver on our ambition to grow our transatlantic network. The commencement of a new route, accompanied with further network connectivity, is an exciting milestone for the airline during a critical time of recovery for our business. The new service to Cleveland not only provides a direct connection to Ireland but connections to over 20 popular European destinations via our Dublin Hub.”
Also commenting on the new Cleveland Service, Dublin Airport’s Interim Airport Director, Dennis Kramer, added,
“Aer Lingus is an award-winning airline that continues to grow with new destinations across the globe. We are truly excited for the opportunity to have nonstop service for travellers to connect to Ireland and the many other European destinations. Our team has worked for years to bring this route to Cleveland for our community.”
The new Dublin-Cleveland route will be operated with an Airbus A321neo LR, the airline’s most sustainable long-haul aircraft. Aer Lingus’ A321neo LR is configured with Economy and Business Class cabins, and delivers up to a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions, and a 50 percent reduction in noise footprint, compared to previous generation aircraft.
