For Summer 2024, Aer Lingus will launch new service between Dublin and Denver Colorado, and also resume service from Dublin to Minneapolis-St. Paul. With the added routes, the carrier will offer 18 routes between Ireland and North America.
On Thursday (August 17, 2023), Aer Lingus announced an expansion of their long-haul network for summer 2024 with new service from Dublin to Denver, Colorado (DEN), as well as resumed service between Dublin and Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP). Including the new and resumed routes, Aer Lingus will offer flights from Ireland to 18 destinations in North America for summer 2024. Flights to Minneapolis-St. Paul will start on April 29, 2024 with four weekly flights, increasing to daily year-round service from October 2024, while Denver flights will operate four times weekly from May 17, 2024. Both routes will initially be operated with an Airbus A330, with MSP service transitioning to an Airbus A321XLR for winter 2024. Inbound customers to Dublin will also enjoy seamless onward one-stop connectivity to 20 European cities.
In Thursday’s route announcement, Aer Lingus’ Chief Executive, Lynne Embleton, said,
“With Dublin’s geographic position as the gateway to Europe, pre-clearance facilities at the airport and the strong, long established Irish American ties, Aer Lingus is ideally placed to connect people and places across the Atlantic.
“Denver and Minneapolis-St Paul are significant business destinations within the US and the new Aer Lingus routes facilitate corporate links and connectivity between Europe and North America, through our Dublin Hub. Denver’s position as the ‘Gateway to the Rockies’ and its outdoor appeal, from world class skiing to hiking, opens up a whole new US experience to leisure travellers from Ireland and Europe.
“This summer has been our biggest yet, with 2.25 million seats to North America and the successful addition of Cleveland, Ohio to our network. We are confident in our growth strategy and look forward to welcoming customers onboard these two new routes next year.”
The new Denver service will facilitate increased business collaboration between Ireland and industries in Colorado. A number of Colorado-based companies have established European headquarters in Ireland, including Level 3 Communications, Otter Products, Webroot, Graebel, Emergentics, and Paragon 28. Resumed service to Minneapolis-St. Paul will also help increase business engagement between Ireland and Minnesota, which is home to 3M, Smiths Medical and Medtronic, all companies that also have successful Irish bases.
