On Monday (April 29, 2024), Aer Lingus announced the restart of service between Dublin (DUB) and Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP).  The route was originally launched in July 2019, but then paused in March 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.  From today, the route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with an Airbus A330 widebody aircraft, marking the full restoration of the carrier’s pre-pandemic North American network.  Additionally, Aer Lingus has launched a new Spring/Summer 2024 Business Class menu.

In Monday’s announcement, Aer Lingus’ Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, Reid Moody said,

“Aer Lingus is delighted to welcome the return of Minneapolis-St. Paul to our North American route network.  There has been a noticeable demand from our passengers for the reinstatement of this route following the temporary pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are dedicated to offering passengers seamless connections between North America and Ireland, and onward from Ireland to the rest of Europe.  The re-introduction of this route marks the airline’s full restoration of our pre-pandemic North American network and serves as testament to this commitment.  Minneapolis-St Paul is a significant business destination within the US and we look forward to once again facilitating corporate links and connectivity between Europe and North America, through our Dublin Hub.”

Inbound travelers to Dublin can also enjoy seamless one-stop connections to other popular destinations across Aer Lingus’ network, including  London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Barcelona, and Berlin.

Customers traveling to Minneapolis-St. Paul will also enjoy recent upgrades to Aer Lingus’ long-haul product, including a new onboard Business Class menu featuring the best of Irish cuisine, with seasonal, sustainably sourced, local produce.  Menu selections include skin-on thyme and parsley chicken supreme, herb-infused roasted pork, flaky pan-fried hake, or citrus-marinated salmon.  Vegetarian and lighter options are also available, with selections such as rich root vegetable and pearl barley stew, accompanied by a seasonal salad.  All guests can also enjoy the carrier’s newly enhanced Wi-Fi speeds, and an expanded IFE library.
