On Thursday (October 20, 2022), Aer Lingus announced the restart of direct flights between Dublin and Miami for the first time in 2.5 years. The route will be operated three times weekly, with the first flight departing Dublin on Friday, October 21, 2022. To celebrate the relaunch, the carrier is offering one-way fares to Miami from only €159, and to other North American destinations from only €169. Around 25 percent of guests booked on Aer Lingus’ Miami flight today started their journey outside of Ireland, reaffirming the airline’s Europe-North America strategy. Guests traveling with Aer Lingus to North America enjoy complimentary meals and drinks and endless hours of inflight entertainment, along with convenient U.S. Customs and Border pre-clearance at Dublin and Shannon airports.

In Thursday’s announcement, Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, said,

“Miami Florida is an ideal destination for every type of traveller whether it be the cruising fanatics, sun seekers, party goers or the keen shoppers, there are endless possibilities. As the only carrier to operate direct flights to Miami from Ireland, we can also cater to the UK and European market given the seamless connections we offer travellers transiting via Dublin. Restarting our Miami service is a further proof point of our ambition to continue to grow our North American network.”

The restart of Miami service follows Aer Lingus’ recent announcement that flights to Cleveland, Ohio and Hartford, Connecticut would return as part of their summer 2023 flying program. Aer Lingus is the only airline offering direct flights between Ireland and Miami, and also currently operates 16 direct routes between Ireland and North America, including service to New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orlando, Washington D.C., Seattle and Philadelphia.
