Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional Unveil Expanded Summer 2026 Schedule from Cork

Aer Lingus has unveiled an expanded summer 2026 schedule from Cork.  The carrier will add two extra weekly flights to Glasgow, new routes to Nice and Santiago de Compostela, as well as an expansion of flights to Prague to year-round service.

On Monday (February 23, 2026), Aer Lingus announced a summer 2026 expansion of their schedule from Cork Airport, including two brand new European routes to Nice and Santiago de Compostela, as well as the expansion of services to Prague and Glasgow.  Aer Lingus Regional, exclusively operated by Emerald Airlines, will increase in capacity on the carrier’s popular service to Glasgow.  From May 25, 2026, the Glasgow route will increase from 4 to 6 weekly flights, with additional services on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Aer Lingus will introduce new routes from Cork to Nice and Santiago de Compostela, beginning May 2nd and June 1st, respectively.  Additionally, flights between Cork to Prague, previously only offered in winter, will be extended to year-round service.


In Monday’s announcement, Emerald Airlines’ Head of Commercial, Ian Lough, said,   


“We are delighted to be enhancing our services from Cork Airport with an increase in capacity on our popular Glasgow route.  The addition of two extra weekly flights for summer 2026 reflects the strong demand we continue to see and reinforces our commitment to offering greater choice, flexibility and convenience for passengers travelling from Cork.”


Also commenting on the summer 2026 Cork Airport expansion, Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, said,


“Aer Lingus is committed to offering customer more choice and convenience, with the addition of six new routes from Cork Airport in the past 12 months.  Our new routes to Santiago de Compostela and Nice provide travel lovers with fresh choices, whether they're planning to walk the Camino de Santiago or discover Nice on the Côte d’Azur.  Together with destinations like Bilbao, Bordeaux, Prague, our summer 2026 schedule is our most diverse offering yet.”


Cork Airport’s Head of Aviation Business Development and Communications, Tara Finn, added,


“We are delighted to see Aer Lingus Regional increase its capacity from Cork to Glasgow for our 2026 summer schedule as well as the addition of new Aer Lingus routes to Santiago de Compostela, Nice and the extension of Prague year-round.  With these additions, passengers will have even more choice for travel from Cork Airport this coming Summer.”


Aer Lingus Regional’s Bristol route will also continue to operate daily, with two flights operating on Mondays and Fridays.  These new options build on Aer Lingus’ popular services to destinations including Malaga, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Faro, Palma de Mallorca, Bilbao, Bordeaux, and London Heathrow.


Additionally, Aer Lingus recently announced the extension of their current 10kg carry-on baggage policy across all Aer Lingus Regional flights, operated by Emerald Airlines, effective March 3, 2026.  This means customers who book a Plus or Advantage fare with Aer Lingus or Aer Lingus Regional enjoy a free 10kg carry-on bag, no matter the destination. Customers who book a Saver fare can pay to take a bag on board or simply check it for free.  AerClub members will also have their baggage benefits extended across the Aer Lingus Regional network.
