AEGEAN will add two more Airbus A321neoXLRs, which will facilitate new direct service to New Delhi and Mumbai from March 2026. This new order expands AEGEAN’s A320/321neo Family orderbook to 60 aircraft, 36 of which have been delivered.

On Wednesday (July 16, 2025), AEGEAN announced the addition of two more Airbus A321neoXLR aircraft. With a range of up to 10.5 hours, the new aircraft will allow the carrier to add more long-haul routes, including new service to New Delhi and Mumbai, scheduled to start in March 2026. With this addition, AEGEAN’s Airbus A320/A321 neo orderbook stands at 60 aircraft, 36 of which have already been delivered. The carrier’s new A321neoXLRs will be configured with 138 seats, including 24 Business Class Suites featuring fully lie-flat beds, increased privacy and full aisle access, and are scheduled for delivery in December 2025 and January 2026.
In Wednesday’s announcement, AEGEAN’s Chairman, Mr. Eftichios Vassilakis, said,
“The addition of these two A321neo XLR aircraft with special configuration, which will be delivered in 2025, in addition to the four A321neo LRs that we plan to take delivery in 2027 and 2028, accelerates our access to the extremely important Indian market, but also allows for the immediate upgrade of our product and services to destinations outside the EU, longer than 4 hours in which we already operate. The A321neo XLR and LR aircraft mark the beginning of a new chapter for AEGEAN, with new possibilities for growth but also new options for our passengers and the connectivity of our country. With new fleet capabilities, strong vertically integrated support infrastructure and most importantly drawing upon the creativity and strengths of our people, we plan to move forward with ambitious but also careful and consistent steps as always.”

After delivery of the new A321neoXLRs, AEGEAN plans to start five weekly flights to New Delhi from March 2026, and three weekly flights to Mumbai from May 2026. The flight schedule will be announced at the end of September, when ticket sales start. AEGEAN will also receive new A321neoLRs in 2027 and 2028, which will be deployed on planned destinations such as Bangalore in India, Seychelles, Maldives, Nairobi, Almaty and Lagos.

The A321neo XLR entered into service in 2024, enabling long range capability, and opening new markets. With a range up to 4,700 Nautical miles, the A321neoXLR has been optimized to fly long-haul routes. Featuring the latest Airspace cabin and extra-large overhead bins, the aircraft includes more spacious Economy seats, full lie-flat Business Class seats, and the latest generation IFE and connectivity. Based on the popular A321neo, the A321neoXLR features a new permanent rear center fuel tank, that allows for fuel and CO2 emissions savings, along with improved aerodynamics and handling performance.
