AEGEAN announced on Thursday an update for their summer 2020 domestic and international flight schedule following a lifting of flight restrictions. From June 15, 2020 the carrier will increase frequencies from all airports in Greece.
Yesterday (June 4, 2020), AEGEAN announced that following the lifting of travel restrictions they will expand their summer 2020 domestic and international flight schedule. Starting June 15, 2020, the carrier will increase domestic flight frequencies from all airports in Greece as well as international destinations and frequencies from Athens and Thessaloniki. AEGEAN’s entire 31 destination domestic network, which operated throughout the lockdown, will be progressively increased to facilitate island connectivity to their international network. The carrier expects that by July 15th, they will fly to 42 international destinations from Athens and seven destinations from Thessaloniki. Additionally, AEGEAN will announce by June 15th, additional direct international flights from Heraklion, Rhodes and Chania.
By July 15th, AEGEAN expects to operate around 1,000 weekly flights, increasing to 1,600 by the end of August, representing about 50 percent of the carrier’s pre-pandemic capacity planning. For customer peace of mind, the AEGEAN is offering unlimited free ticket changes without fees as well as a free checked bag of up to 23kg on all new bookings through June 15th. Additionally, the airline has implemented a new “Hold my Booking” service, which allows customers to reserve a flight at the current available price for 14 days. The feature is available for a nominal fee of €3 for domestic flights and €6 for international flights on bookings through June 15, 2020.
