Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will launch new service between Abu Dhabi and Samarkand in Uzbekistan from December 13, 2022. The route will be operated twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays with fares from AED 149.
On Wednesday (October 12, 2022), Wizz Air Abu Dhabi announced the launch of new service between Abu Dhabi and Samarkand in Uzbekistan starting December 13, 2022. Flights to Samarkand will be offered twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays with fares from only AED 149 (US $41). Samarkand is the second largest city in Uzbekistan and is one of the most important sites on the Silk Road, situated at the crossroads of world cultures for over two and a half millennia. One of the most ancient cities, and among the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia, Samarkand is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In Wednesday’s announcment, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s Managing Director, Michael Berlouis, said,

Commencing operations January 2021, ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) Wizz Air Abu Dhabi currently serves nearly 40 destinations, including Alexandria (Egypt), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Amman (Jordan), Ankara (Turkey), Aqaba (Jordan), Athens (Greece), Baku (Azerbaijan), Belgrade (Serbia), Dammam (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait City (Kuwait), Kutaisi (Georgia), Manama (Bahrain), Male (Maldives), Muscat (Oman), Nur Sultan (Kazakhstan), Salalah (Oman), Santorini (Greece), Sarajevo (Bosnia), Sohag (Egypt), Tel-Aviv (Israel), Tirana (Albania) and Yerevan (Armenia) among others. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi operates a young fleet of five new Airbus A321neo aircraft.
