The airline will expand their network in France, Spain and Italy with ten new routes, bringing their total offer for winter 2020/21 to 143 routes, including 60 exclusive routes. Tickets are now on sale for flights from December 17th through January 11, 2021.
On Thursday (October 8, 2020), regional carrier Volotea announced the launch of ten new routes for winter 2020/21 with expanded service to France, Spain and Italy. The carrier will operate a total of 143 routes, including 60 exclusive routes for the winter holiday season, offering more than a half million seats, a year-over-year increase of 33%. The ten new connections include twice-weekly service between Lanzarote-Oviedo, Bilbao-Grenada, Grenada-Oviedo, Las Palmas-Oviedo, Lille-Nantes, Barcelona-Verona, Genoa-Paris, Luxembourg-Toulouse, Nantes-Perpignan and Lille-Perpignan. In Thursday’s announcement, Volotea’s Chief Commercial Officer, David Gonzalez, said,
"We couldn’t be happier to share this positive news by launching today our brand-new offer. As we did this summer, our aim is to enable our customers to better plan their winter travel and to help them reunite with their families and friends in the upcoming holidays or breaks. We have been working hard to offer our clients the best flight options by increasing our frequencies and creating new connections where necessary, while maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety so they can travel confidently with us."
Volotea is one of the fastest growing independent airlines in Europe and has carried over 25 million passengers since 2012. In 2020, the carrier is adding six Airbus A319s and 62 new routes, offering 354 short-haul city pairs from 96 small and medium-sized airports in 15 countries. Volotea has a fleet of 39 aircraft including 25 Airbus A319s and 14 Boeing 717s. The airline operates from 16 European bases in Venice, Nantes, Bordeaux, Palermo, Strasburg, Asturias, Verona, Toulouse, Genoa, Bilbao, Marseille, Athens, Cagliari, Lyon, Naples and Hamburg.
Volotea is opening bases in Lyon and Naples in 2020. To facilitate their rapid growth, the airline is currently recruiting for 200 available positions in France, Italy, Spain, Greece and Germany. Volotea expects to carry between 8.5 and 9.0 million passengers during 2020.
