On Wednesday (September 2, 2020), Vistara announced a new frequent flyer partnership with Japan Airlines. Now, Club Vistara and JAL Mileage bank members can earn and redeem points/miles on either carrier. Club Vistara members can earn CV points on flights operated and market by Japan Airlines across JAL’s extensive international network that covers 80 destinations across 20 countries and regions. Likewise, JAL Mileage Bank Members can now earn and redeem miles on flights operated and marketed by Vistara across the carrier’s growing domestic network in India and internationally. In Wednesday’s announcement, Vistara’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Vinod Kannan, said,

“We are delighted to take this next step in our strategic partnership with Japan Airlines, which helps us to strengthen our value proposition for Club Vistara members. It is in line with our broader strategy of forging more partnerships with like-minded airlines as well as non-airline brands to provide a wider choice of earn and burn options to our customers and make the program the perfect lifestyle choice for today’s travellers. We are equally excited at the opportunity to welcome members of JAL Mileage Bank to experience India’s finest airline.”

Vistara and JAL first signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2017 to explore commercial opportunities. In 2019, the airlines entered a codeshare agreement which was expanded earlier this year. Club Vistara is the fastest-rewarding frequent flyer program offering four tiers of membership including CV Base, CV Silver, CV Gold and CV Platinum. Currently, Club Vistara members can earn and redeem points when flying the carrier’s other partner airlines including Singapore Airlines, Silk Air and United Airlines.

Vistara is expanding their medium and long-haul international network in markets outside of Southeast Asia and the Middle East utilizing their newly delivered Airbus A321neo and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Recently, the carrier launched inaugural service to London-Heathrow as part of the bilateral ‘transport bubble’ between India and the UK and the airline is considering service to Paris and Frankfurt.

Tata SIA Airlines Limited (Vistara) is a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) with 51 and 49 percent equity ownership, respectively. Vistara is India’s highest rated airline, with top ratings on Skytrax and TripAdvisor as well as a 5-Star rating from APEX. In a short span of just five years, the carrier has distinguished itself for excellence in operations and service delivery. The carrier connects destinations across India and abroad with a fleet of 34 Airbus A320s, one Airbus A321neo, six Boeing 737-800NGs and two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Rapidly growing Vistara has flown more than 20 million customers since commencing operations on January 9, 2015.
