On Monday (October 25, 2021), Virgin Australia announced the launch of a fun new marketing campaign as millions of Aussies emerge from lockdown. The airline’s award-winning service is at the heart of the campaign, which is highlighted by a young family on summer holiday. As the parents enjoy a little well-deserved relaxation, their spirited children are assisted by Virgin Australia team members, who magically appear throughout the trip. Featured in the advert are pit crew members who use batons to stop the children from jumping in the pool where mum is relaxing, and cabin crew who give the parents some much-needed alone time. Virgin Australia’s new marketing campaign was produced in partnership with The Precinct.

In Monday’s announcement, Virgin Australia Group’s Chief Marketing Officer, Libby Minogue, said,

“Over the years our team members have won multiple customer service awards, including Airline Ratings ‘Best Cabin Crew’ in 2021. The campaign beautifully harnesses the passion and dedication we have to our guests and the incredible service they experience every time they fly with us. Since September, we have launched 12 new return services throughout Australia and we are scheduled to resume flights to Fiji in December, followed by Bali and New Zealand. We know this campaign will remind Australians why they should book with Virgin Australia, which will be so important as the country begins to travel again. We're an airline that knows how to bring joy to flying, offering customers great value fares to even more destinations, along with world-class service, irrespective of where they are seated.”

The Precinct’s Creative Director, Michelle Galluzo, added, “With the highly anticipated holiday season approaching, this campaign is a friendly reminder of Virgin Australia’s playful attitude and great service. It’s fun, relatable and an exciting time to show what they do best.”

A teaser of the campaign video was released on Virgin Australia’s media channels over the weekend and the ad will continue to air across national and regional television in November and December, as well as on social media, YouTube and catch up TV. The new marketing campaign coincides with the launch of the airline’s ‘Yay for holidays’ sale which began today, where customers can book select one-way Economy Class tickets from $49 through midnight AEST on November 1st, 2021.
