Vietnam Airlines Announces New Codeshare Agreement with Saudia

Vietnam Airlines has signed a new codeshare agreement with Saudia, which will enhance connectivity and convenience for travelers between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On Wednesday (July 2, 2025), Vietnam Airlines announced the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Saudia which will facilitate travel on flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. This new collaboration between two SkyTeam alliance members will offer customers expanded travel options and a more seamless journey with a streamlined booking experience across both airlines’ networks, and reciprocal frequent flyer program benefits.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Vietnam Airlines’ Head of Corporate Planning and Development, Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, said,
“The codeshare partnership with Saudia marks a strategic milestone in Vietnam Airlines’ journey to expand its international network, particularly into the Middle East — a region with tremendous potential and impressive growth in both tourism and aviation. This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering seamless travel experiences and world-class services, while also strengthening economic, cultural, and trade ties between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia. We believe that combining the strengths of two SkyTeam members will not only enhance value for our frequent flyer members, but also help boost passenger exchange between the two countries.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, Saudia’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Arved von zur Muehlen, added,
“We are looking forward to deepening our relationship with Vietnam Airlines. This codeshare agreement underscores Saudia’s commitment to offer more destinations to guests to explore and enhance connectivity, securing a seamless travel experience, being both members of SkyTeam. By collaborating with the esteemed national carriers, we continue to expand our global network, aligning with our strategic objectives to foster economic growth and cultural exchange.”
With the new codeshare agreement, customers of both airlines will be able to book flights through either Vietnam Airlines or Saudia for itineraries that include segments operated by the other carrier, simplifying the travel process.
