Uzbekistan Airways Converts Options into a Firm Order for Eight Additional Boeing 787-9s

Boeing has announced that Uzbekistan Airways has converted options into a firm order for eight additional 787-9 Dreamliners. This agreement expands the carrier’s orderbook for the type to a total of 22 airplanes.

On Thursday (November 6, 2025), Boeing announced that Uzbekistan Airways has converted options into a firm order for eight additional 787-9 Dreamliners. This agreement expands the carrier’s firm orderbook for the type to a total of 22 airplanes. These ultra-efficient 787-9 airplanes will enable then carrier to expand their international network as part of their growth strategy. The signing ceremony took place at the C5+1 Summit in Washington, DC, and was witnessed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov.
As the first Boeing 787 operator in Central Asia, Uzbekistan Airways has leveraged their fleet to connect markets in Europe, Asia and the U.S., including direct service to New York-JFK. With increased capacity and extended range, the 787-9 will enable Uzbekistan Airways to expand their international routes to the U.S. and other long-haul markets.
