United Airlines Reports Fourth Quarter 2025 Net Profit of $1.0 Billion or $3.19 per Diluted Share

United Airlines has reported a fourth quarter 2025 net profit of $1.0 billion or $3.19 per diluted share on a year-over-year increase in revenue of 4.8 percent to $15.4 billion. At December 31, 2025, the carrier had liquidity totaling $15.2 billion.

On Tuesday (January 20, 2026), United Airlines reported their fourth quarter and full year financial results for the period ending December 31, 2025. The carrier reported a fourth quarter net profit of $1.0 billion or $3.19 per diluted share on a year-over-year increase in revenue of 4.8 percent to $15.4 billion. United’s Q4 total revenue per available seat mile (TRASM) decreased 1.6 percent versus the same period last year to 18.47 cents, while cost per available seat mile (CASM) declined (0.3) percent to 16.81 cents. Costs excluding fuel (CASM-ex) increase 0.4 percent to 12.94 cents.
In Tuesday’s announcement, United Airlines’ CEO, Scott Kirby, said,
“Our results are built on winning more and more brand-loyal customers — it’s clear they get the most value flying United. This was the highest-revenue quarter in United’s history and the highest quarterly RASM of the year providing strong revenue momentum that is continuing into 2026.”
For the full year 2025, United reported a net profit of $3.4 billion or $10.20 per diluted share on a year-over-year increase in revenue of 3.5 percent to $59.1 billion. The carrier’s FY 2025 total revenue per available seat mile (TRASM) declined year-over-year by (2.5) percent to 17.88 cents, while cost per available seat mile (CASM) decreased (1.5) percent to 16.46 cents. United’s full year cost per available seat mile excluding fuel (CASM-ex) increased 0.4 percent compared to FY 2024 to 12.64 cents. At December 31, 2025 the company had $15.2 billion in total available liquidity, including cash, cash equivalents, short-term investments and undrawn credit facilities.

Starlink Wi-Fi is now installed on nearly all of the dual-cabin United Express fleet, more than 300 aircraft, with completion expected later this month. Starlink installations have begun on mainline aircraft and are expected to accelerate rapidly during 2026.
In 2026 United plans to take delivery of over 100 single-aisle aircraft and approximately 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, more widebody aircraft in a single year than any U.S. passenger airline since 1988. The carrier also plans on making significant airport upgrades at their Washington Dulles and Houston hubs.
