TAP Air Portugal to Launch New Direct Service Between Lisbon and Orlando

From the Better Tourism Lisbon (BTL) Travel Market on Thursday, February 26th, TAP Air Portugal Announced the launch of new nonstop service between Lisbon and Orlando starting October 29, 2026, with three weekly flights.

On Thursday (February 26, 2026), from the Better Tourism Lisbon (BTL) Travel Market, TAP Air Portugal announced the launch of a new direct route between Lisbon and Orlando, starting October 29, 2026.  The route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  Additionally, TAP is expanding their offer in the Americas by making the Porto-Boston route year-round, and resuming flights between Lisbon and Caracas.  At the same event, TAP’s CEO, Luís Rodrigues, presented a range of strategic initiatives for next year, reinforcing the airline’s international expansion, a growing strategic focus on Porto and Portuguese identity, and the airline’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the guest experience.  


This year, TAP will also celebrate 60 years of regular service to Brazil.  Marking this historic milestone, the carrier will launch service from Lisbon to new destinations in Brazil.  Service between Lisbon and Curitiba will start on July 2, 2026 with three weekly flights operated with an Airbus A330-200.  Starting on October 26, 2026, the carrier will also launch new service between Lisbon and São Luís do Maranhão.  This route will operate twice weekly with an Airbus A321LR.  TAP will also increase operations in southern Brazil this summer, with the introduction of a fourth weekly frequency on the routes between Lisbon and Porto Alegre and between Lisbon and Florianópolis.


As part of the airline’s ‘TAP with the North’ strategy, TAP is also reinforcing their presence in Porto with new routes to Terceira (from July 1st), Praia (from July 2nd) and Tel Aviv (From October 25th).  Additionally, TAP will build a maintenance hub in Porto, a strategic investment of €20 million that will create approximately 200 highly skilled jobs.


In addition to transatlantic growth, TAP is expanding their operations in Europe and Portugal.  New service between Lisbon and Athens will start on July 1st.  The route will operate five times weekly with an Airbus A320neo in summer, and an Embraer E190 in winter.  TAP will also launch new service between Lisbon and Tel Aviv starting March 29, 2026.  Additionaly, service between Funchal and Faro will become year-round, with two weekly flights in winter.


Finally, for summer 2026, TAP will launch a new cabin between Business Class and Economy Class, available on Airbus A330 and A321LR aircraft.  This new class will have 12 exclusive seats, offering passengers, greater privacy, priority check-in, baggage, and boarding, fast track security, a premium meal with pre-selection, an exclusive amenity kit, premium headphones, extra mileage accumulation, and greater fare flexibility.
