TAP Air Portugal resumed three weekly flights to Porto Alegre, Brazil, their second longest route after San Francisco, on March 29, 2022. The airline has also announced that they have nearly doubled the number of flights from Porto compared to 2021.

On Monday (April 4, 2022), TAP Air Portugal announced that they have resumed service to Porto Alegre, Brazil, with the first flight having departed on March 29, 2022. The carrier will operate the route, which is their second longest route after San Francisco, three times weekly. For summer 2022, TAP will connect 11 Brazilian cities directly to Europe on 13 routes, offering 73 weekly flights between Portugal and Brazil. The carrier currently offers nonstop service to Lisbon from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife and Salvador. TAP also offers direct connections to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro from Porto.
In a previous press release on Saturday, April 2, 2022, TAP Air Portugal announced that they have nearly doubled their summer 2022 schedule from Porto compared to last year. The carrier continues to invest in Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, as air travel continues its post-pandemic recovery. TAP is the only airline that offers transatlantic service from Porto, with service to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil, as well as to New York-JFK. The carrier offers twice weekly service from Porto to Rio de Janeiro, three weekly frequencies to São Paulo and twice weekly service to New York. Service from Porto also includes 14 weekly flights to Funchal, 14 flights to London, 21 weekly flights to Paris, four weekly flights to Geneva and Luxembourg, as well as three weekly flights to Zurich and Ponta Delgada. TAP also offers 70 weekly flights between Porto and Lisbon.
