Swoop to Launch Service Between Winnipeg and Orlando Sanford From December 2021

Swoop will launch twice-weekly service between Winnipeg and Orlando Sanford International Airport starting December 9, 2021. Swoop also offers service between Winnipeg and other sunny destinations including Phoenix, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta.

On Thursday (September 16, 2021), Swoop announced the launch of new twice-weekly service between Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG) and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) starting December 9th and 10th. Orlando-Sanford is the fourth sun-filled destination on offer from Winnipeg, joining service to Phoenix-Mesa, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta which will start in November.


In Thursday’s announcement, Swoop’s Head of Commercial & Finance, Bert van der Stege, said,

“We are thrilled to be bringing more ultra-low fares and connectivity to Winnipeg through the addition of non-stop service to Orlando Sanford just in time for the winter season. Winnipeg is an important part of our network and as we continue to recover our operations, we remain committed to supporting the recovery of inbound and outbound air travel to the region.”


Also commenting on the route announcement, Winnipeg Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Barry Rempel, said,


“We're proud to be teaming up with Swoop to restore service interrupted amid the pandemic and help our community gain access to more in-demand travel destinations. Today's exciting announcement from Swoop is welcome news and further demonstrates the strong demand for travel in the Winnipeg market as more routes continue to return to serve the region.”
