From September 1st through 3rd, 2023, Zurich Airport will be celebrating their 75th anniversary. SWISS will be joining the festivities in a variety of ways, allowing visitors to tour an Airbus A220, view a series of aircraft turnarounds and more.
On Friday (August 25, 2023), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced that they will be participating in Zurich Airport’s (ZRH) 75th anniversary ‘Flughafenfest’ celebrations. The three-day event will be held from September 1st through September 3rd, 2023. As part of the event, SWISS will be hosting a number of activities and attractions. Aviation fans will be able to view and inspect an Airbus A220, and have questions answered by SWISS’s specialists on the spot. SWISS pilots, cabin crew and technical apprentices will be on hand to offer unique insights into their multi-faceted professions, and visitors will also have the opportunity to view and Airbus A320 flight simulator.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to view aircraft turnarounds, including refueling, cargo loading, and baggage handling, accompanied by live expert commentary, which will continue until the aircraft taxis for departure. Aviation enthusiasts interested in learning more about the aircraft turnaround process can do so on Friday at 16:15, Saturday at 12:45 or Sunday at 11:15. Another highlight of the festivities will be the formal naming of a SWISS aircraft, which will take place at the party side on Saturday, September 2nd at 15:30.
