Peter Lienhard will succeed Lukas Wirth as SWISS’s Head of Information Technology and as Head of Domain Hub Airlines Commercial at the Lufthansa Group from January 1st, 2021. Mr. Lienhard is currently Head of IT to Business Alignment at SWISS.
On Friday (December 11, 2020), Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) announced the appointment of Peter Lienhard as Head of Informational Technology at SWISS as well as Head of IT Domain Hub Airlines Commercial at the Lufthansa Group. Mr. Lienhard currently serves as SWISS’s Head of IT to Business Alignment and will succeed Lukas Wirth in his new position. After seven years of service, Mr. Wirth will leave the company at the end of the year to pursue new professional challenges outside of the Lufthansa Group. In Friday’s announcement, SWISS’s CFO, Markus Binkert, said,
“I am delighted that in Peter Lienhard we have secured the services of such a proven IT specialist from within our own ranks. With his broad and extensive experience, Peter is the ideal person to continue to develop digitalization at SWISS and the Lufthansa Group. I wish him every success and satisfaction in his new capacity.”
Peter Lienhard (42) will report directly to SWISS’s CFO, Markus Binkert, when he assumes his new role on January 1st, 2021. In his additional role with the Lufthansa Group, Mr. Lienhard will report to the Group’s Head of Information Management, Thomas Rückert. Peter Lienhard joined SWISS in 2016 as Head of IT to Business Alignment, where he oversaw the company’s entire IT project portfolio, driving further digitalization while developing and refining various IT systems. Prior to joining SWISS, Mr. Lienhard spent ten years with Accenture, where he managed global IT projects in Switzerland, Germany and Hong Kong. A native of Zurich, Peter Lienhard holds a master’s degree in communication systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) at Lausanne. Mr. Lienhard is married and has two children.
