SWISS Brings The Holiday Cheer With Festive Inflight Christmas Snacks and Menus

SWISS announced Friday a collection of seasonal inflight offerings including a traditional “Grittibänz” bread man snack, special SWISS gingerbread creations and carefully curated holiday menus that are sure to delight guests of all ages.

On Friday, SWISS announced new inflight offerings and menus that are sure to put customers in a festive mood this December. The snacks and meals will include traditional Advent and Christmas specialties such as Swiss Christmas cookies and mandarins, which will replace the airline’s afternoon snack on European flights. On December 6th (St. Nicholas’ Day) Economy Class Passengers will receive a traditional “Grittibänz” bread man and special SWISS gingerbread creations. Long-haul First Class passengers will receive a special SWISS Advent treat – a gingerbread Santa’s head from the renowned confectioner Sprüngli.


Customers traveling on long-haul flights from Switzerland will also be treated to specially curated holiday menus. From December 18th to the end of the year, First Class passengers will enjoy essence of duck with open ravioli and pumpkin, followed by dry-aged Angus Beef Wellington with a Perigord truffle sauce. Dessert includes a “surprise chocolate ball” with vanilla ice cream. Long-haul Business Class passengers from Switzerland will be treated to a pulled duck salad with plum and marinated chicory, a corn-fed chicken breast with truffle sauce and apple crumble cheesecake with cinnamon mousse and mulled wine gelée. Both meals are rounded off with Etter Christmas Plum liqueur, and for SWISS First customers, Sprüngli Christmas pralines and winter tea by Sirocco.


Economy Class customers traveling on long-haul flights from Switzerland will also enjoy a festive holiday menu including a barley pumpkin salad followed by grilled chicken breast au jus with chestnut-potato mash and red cabbage. For desert, Economy Class passengers will receive cinnamon mousse with roast apple compote.


For the third year in a row, SWISS will also be operating their magical winter “LXmas” flight for young swiss families on the weekend of December 14-15th. The special Airbus A320 flight will fly from Zurich to Kuusamo, Finland with 120 Swiss passengers of all generations. The special Advent flight will allow the SWISS guests to experience the magical winter landscape of the Lapland along with a full program of delightful seasonal surprises. Invited guests will include families of the Sternschnuppe foundation, which is dedicated to making the wishes of seriously ill children come true.
