Sun Country Airlines to Launch New Service From Minneapolis-St. Paul to Asheville and Palm Beach

Sun Country Airlines will launch new twice-weekly service from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Asheville, North Carolina and Palm Beach, Florida starting October 7, 2021. The carrier has also advanced the start of service to Punta Gorda, Florida to October 8, 2021.

On Tuesday (June 29, 2021), Sun Country Airlines announced the launch of two new routes from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP). Starting October 7, 2021, the carrier will offer twice-weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays to both Ashville Regional Airport (AVL) in North Carolina and Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) in Florida. Additionally, Sun Country will advance the start of service between MSP and Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) in Florida to October 8, 2021. Flights between MSP and Punta Gorda will operate twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Sun Country Airlines’ Chief Revenue Officer, Grant Whitney, said,


“We’re thrilled to announce the addition of two new airports to our growing network. From the sandy beaches of Florida to the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in these exciting vacation destinations.”


Also commenting on the new service, Metropolitan Airports Commission’s CEO, Brian Ryks, said,

“We’re excited to see Sun Country Airlines continue to grow its presence at MSP, with three new routes that offer more choices for travelers. It also signals continued momentum in the industry’s recovery as we enter the second half of 2021.”


Currently, Sun Country Airlines operates 100 routes across 73 airports in the U.S., Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Once onboard, guests will enjoy free inflight entertainment, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and new aircraft interiors.
