On Tuesday (February 7, 2023), Star Alliance announced the opening of paid access to their lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS). In addition to Star Alliance Gold members, First and Business Class passengers, now all Star Alliance passengers can access the lounge for a nominal fee. This is the fifth of six Star Alliance-branded lounges worldwide to offer paid access, following the alliance’s lounges in Rome (FCO), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Buenos Aires (EZE) and Los Angeles (LAX). The Amsterdam lounge is located in Departures Hall 2 after security clearance for the Schengen area, an ideal location for passengers traveling to and from European destinations in the Schengen Zone. Currently, 14 Star Alliance member airlines operate out of Amsterdam Schiphol, offering service to 20 destinations in 16 countries.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Star Alliance’s VP Customer Experience, Christian Draeger, said,

“We are pleased to announce that our Amsterdam lounge has become the latest Star Alliance-branded lounge to offer pay-per-use entry. With this, all passengers passing through Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on Star Alliance carriers have the option to relax in our stylish, well-appointed lounge, regardless of cabin class or membership status. The lounge is especially convenient for passengers travelling within the Schengen zone who want to kick back and enjoy a meal or get some work done comfortably before they board their flight.”

The design of Star Alliance’s sleek, contemporary Schiphol lounge has been inspired by Holland’s ever-changing skies and landscapes, and is decorated with original Dutch furniture and art. The lounge features free Wi-Fi, and spaces dedicated to both business and leisure travelers, including personal work booths, a communal worktable and a bar, as well as spacious dining and relaxation areas that can accommodate up to 150 guests.

Passengers can pre-book and purchase lounge access vouchers by clicking here. Subject to availability, customers will receive a confirmation e-mail with a QR code valid for the day and time selected. Once at the airport, they simply scan the QR code at the lounge entrance and walk in. Vouchers are affordably priced at €50 for three hours of use, and customers who are members of any Star Alliance member carrier’s frequent flyer program will also enjoy a discount.
