On Thursday (October 12, 2023), Star Alliance announced the inauguration of their second lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Located in Terminal 1, the lounge will welcome First and Business Class guests, as well as Star Alliance Gold status customers on flights departing gates 10 through 38 starting Friday, October 13, 2023. Eligible United Club and Air Canada Maple Leaf members may also access the new lounge. The new approximately 1,300 square meter lounge can accommodate 300 guests and is conveniently located airside after immigration and security controls in the newest part of the terminal.

In Thursday’s announcement, Star Alliance’s CEO, Theo Panagiotoulias, said,

“Star Alliance stands for elevating the experience of its member airline passengers, and airport lounges play a vital role. We’re very proud to present our new Paris lounge, which is not only a delight to experience but also thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of the modern frequent traveller.”

Also commenting on the inauguration of the new CDG lounge, Star Alliance’s Vice President for Customer Experience, Christian Draeger, added,

“Our new Paris lounge expands the count of Star Alliance branded lounges to seven worldwide and takes the airport lounge experience to new heights. Whether it is the design, décor or the F&B experience, we have carefully curated the lounge for a multi-sensorial experience for guests departing from the dazzling city of Paris.”

Designed by the leading architecture firm, Gensler, the lounge offers fantastic runway views and ample natural light thanks to a length-wide glass façade. The space is also enriched by local brands and artists, delivering the quintessential world-renowned French charm. Featuring timeless Parisian aesthetics including wall moldings and archways, the lounge is decorated with captivating black & white photos of the Eiffel Tower, and furnished with bespoke pieces selected by French artists.

Some of the standout features of the new lounge include a stunning Welcome Bar, along with an immersive Wine Bar featuring master winemaker Gerard Bertrand and their wines from the South of France, as well as a Tea Salon. Additionally, there are private work cabins and secluded nooks throughout the space for business travelers desiring a quieter space. Guests can also unwind in the lighted Winter Garden or spacious outdoor courtyard, or freshen up in the well-appointed shower suites.
