On Tuesday, Spirit Airlines announced new service to Barranquilla and Bucaramanga in Colombia from Fort Lauderdale, Florida starting this April. Service to the new Colombian destinations will be offered three times weekly.
Today, Spirit Airlines announced an expansion of their offering to Colombia with new service from Fort Lauderdale, Florida (FLL) to both Barranquila and Bucaramanga in Colombia. Service to both cities will be offered three times weekly with Bucaramanga departures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting April 22, 2020 and Barranquilla service on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from April 23, 2020. With today’s announcement, Spirit Airlines will now operate 10 non-stop routes to seven Colombian cities from two US gateways (Fort Lauderdale and Orlando) more than any other US carrier. In Tuesday’s announcement, Spirit Airlines’ President and CEO, Ted Christie said,

Colombia is considered home to many in Florida and it is also a destination that has gained so much interest in the past years from the leisure traveler. We are very excited to add Bucaramanga and Barranquilla to our Spirit Family and continue with our mission to offer the best value in the sky to those looking to visit family and friends and those looking for their next adventure.”
Miramar, Florida-based low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines operates over 650 daily flights to destinations in the US, Latin America and the Caribbean.
