Southwest Airlines to Launch New Service at Charles M. Schultz Sonoma County Airport

From April 2026, Southwest Airlines will launch new service from Charles M. Schultz Sonoma County Airport, expanding their California footprint to 14 airports.

On Wednesday (September 10, 2025), Southwest Airlines announced that they will launch new service from Santa Rosa’s Charles M. Schultz Sonoma County Airport (STS) starting April 7, 2026.  This will become the carrier’s 14th airport in California.  Southwest’s inaugural flights to and from STS include nonstop service to San Diego, Las Vegas, Denver, and Burbank, California.  The San Diego and Las Vegas routes will operate daily, including two San Diego roundtrips on peak days. Burbank flights will initially operate five days per week, and Denver service will operate on Saturdays only. 


In Wednesday’s announcement, Southwest Airlines’ Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Watterson, said,


“We aren’t slowing down in our pursuit to provide Customers with more options than ever before.  Adding Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport to our route map provides more access to California’s famed Wine Country for our Customers and further solidifies our yearslong commitment to California.”
