SAUDIA Launches New Service to Bangkok From Jeddah and Riyadh

Saudi Arabian Airlines today celebrated the launch of new service between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Thailand. The first flight departed King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah for Bangkok on Monday, with an interim stop in Riyadh.

On Monday (February 28, 2022), Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) announced the launch of new service to Bangkok, Thailand from Jeddah and Riyadh, with the first flight departing King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah today. The route will operate three times weekly with an interim stop at King Khalid International Airport for guests departing and arriving from Riyadh. Today’s inaugural flight to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok followed a special ceremony in the newly opened international Alfursan lounge in Jeddah.


Speaking at today’s ceremony, SAUDIA’s Vice President of Marketing & Product Management, Mr. Essam Akhonbay, said,


“We at SAUDIA are proud to open a new chapter in the recently strengthened bilateral relations between the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Thailand. The launch of this new route builds on our already strong operational footprint in Asia and will provide greater connectivity and convenience for guests. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the leadership of both nations for enabling SAUDIA to become a bridge between our great Kingdoms. We look forward to welcoming guests from Thailand to Saudia Arabia as we continue to serve as the ‘Wings of 2030’.


Flights between Jeddah and Bangkok depart at 04:30 and Arrive in Riyadh at 06:05 for a 45 minute layover, before departing again for a 18:05 arrival in Thailand. The return flight departs Bangkok at 20:35, arriving in Riyadh at 00:30, and in Jeddah at 02:55. The route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner configured with 24 Business Class and 274 Economy Class seats. The new Bangkok service complements SAUDIA’s existing Asia-Pacific network with service to key cities in the region including Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila and Guangzhou.
