On Thursday (November 24, 2022) SAS announced the launch of new service between Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and New York (JFK) starting February 9, 2023. The route will initially be operated five times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, increasing to daily service for summer 2023. SAS will operate out of New York JFK’s Terminal 7. For the winter 2022/23 season, the carrier will offer around 130 weekly departures to the U.S. on 12 routes.

In Thursday’s announcement, SAS’ Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer – Network and Revenue Management, Erik Westman, said,

“We are very pleased to launch our new route to JFK. SAS offers a solid product to Newark Airport from Scandinavia, and we believe that this addition to JFK from Copenhagen will strengthen the New York offer to our customers. The US is a strategic market for SAS, and we will continue to develop new routes and destinations whenever the right opportunity presents itself.”
