On Monday (October 6, 2025), SAS announced an expansion of their commercial partnership with Virgin Atlantic.  As part of the agreement, SAS will place their ‘SK’ code on select Virgin Atlantic flights from London Heathrow, providing SAS customers with seamless access to destinations such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Dubai, and Malé in the Maldives. The codeshare flights are now available for booking through all SAS distribution channels, and more destinations will be added soon.  SAS and Virgin Atlantic originally launched their bilateral codeshare agreement in October 2024.

In Monday’s announcement, SAS’ Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Verhagen, said,

“This expanded codeshare with Virgin Atlantic strengthens SAS’ offering to both business and leisure travelers by opening up more options to popular destinations.  By placing our code on Virgin Atlantic flights, we make it easier for our customers to connect seamlessly through London Heathrow and enjoy a smooth travel experience.”

Also commenting on the expanded codeshare partnership, Virgin Atlantic’s Chief Commercial Officer, Juha Jarvinen, said,

“We’re delighted to be deepening our partnership with SAS through our codeshare expansion, signalling our continued commitment to working with our fellow SkyTeam member.  It means more customers can enjoy seamless connections through London Heathrow to our incredible destinations including Dubai, the Maldives and South Africa as well as enjoy the premium customer experience which Virgin Atlantic is famous for.”
