On Wednesday (September 27, 2023), KLM announced the opening of two newly renovated lounges at Toronto and Houston airports, which along with the airline’s lounges at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol are the only KLM Crown Lounges worldwide. The comfortable and stylish lounges offer a recognizable and trusted KLM environment with ergonomic furniture, fixtures made of sustainable materials, and modern circular features. Guests will notice the use of KLM Blue, along with warm, natural colors, as well as a display of KLM’s iconic Delftware miniature houses. Visitors will be able to enjoy quiet more secluded work areas, or opt for more activity in other areas of the lounge, including a buffet offering customized options depending on the time of day.

In Wednesday’ announcement, KLM’s Vice President – Customer Experience, Marleen van de Pol, said,

“We’re very pleased with the positive response from customers, agents and partners who celebrated the openings with us. Investment in signature lounges at international stations are the cornerstone of elevating the premium customer experience, aligning perfectly with our commitment to investing in our new World Business Class and our recently introduced Premium Comfort cabin. Branded lounges add to the connection with our customers in delivering our brand promise of creating memorable experiences.”

The festive openings of the lounges were attended by many guests, including travel agency representatives, influencers, U.S. and Canadian travel media, airport team members, Delta colleagues and AFKL partners. The official opening of both lounges was performed by KLM’s Vice President of Customer experience and GTAA’s Director of Strategic Customer Relationships, Janik Reigate.
