Qatar Airways Privilege Club will now offer the most generous award flight pricing among Middle East Airlines and Members can now travel with less Qmiles and no booking fees for award flights.
On Monday (November 23, 2020) Qatar Airways announced changes to the Qatar Airways Privilege club which will make it easier for members to book award flights. The airline has reduced the number of Qmiles needed to book award flights by up to 49 percent allowing customers to travel with less Qmiles and without booking fees. With these enhancements, Qatar Airways Privilege Club now offers the most competitive award flights pricing among Middle East carriers. T he reduced Qmiles requirements will apply to Qatar Airways award flights for guests connecting through Hamad International Airport and those traveling to or from Doha to Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceana. In Monday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Thierry Antinori, said,
“Your Qmiles now take you further when you travel with us on medium, long and ultra-long haul flights. We have increased their power in an important effort to ensure that our valued Qatar Airways Privilege Club members will be amply rewarded for their loyalty. This step is a part of the wider transformation of our loyalty programme that has seen a number of enhancements this year – with more exciting changes to follow in the coming months. Our aim is to establish and cement ourselves as the leading airline loyalty programme in the Middle East and among the best in the world.”
Privilege Club members booking flexi award tickets, which normally require twice as many Qmiles, will also benefit from the program enhancement. Members can us the Qmiles calculator to determine the number of miles required for their award flights. The chart below shows several examples of the reduced flight award requirements.
Earlier this year, Qatar Airways Privilege Club enhanced flexibility for members in a variety of ways. Now, when a member earns or spends miles, their balance will remain valid for 36 months and booking fees for award flights have also been eliminated. Members who book Business Class Award flights will continue to enjoy complimentary lounge access and seat allocation, including service at the Al Mourjan Business Class Lounge at Hamad International Airport in Doha. As always, members will continue to earn Qmiles when traveling with Qatar Airways, oneworld® alliance members and any of the carrier’s partners, as well as by using Qatar Airways credit cards when shopping at Privilege Club retail and lifestyle partners. Qmiles can be redeemed for a variety of exciting awards including award flights, upgrades, extra baggage, shopping in Qatar Duty Free and partner hotel stays.
Qatar Airways Privilege Club is the Official Frequent Flyer Program of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In 2020, the program won a Frequent Traveler award for ‘Best Rewards Program’ in the Middle East, Asia and Oceana.
