Today (August 2, 2021), Qatar Airways announced the launch of a new partnership with RwandAir, the national flag carrier of Rwanda. The extensive interline agreement will give customers access to over 160 destinations on the networks of both airlines, via their home hubs in Doha and Kigali. Additionally, RwandAir Dream Miles and Qatar Airways Privilege members will have the ability to reciprocally ‘earn and burn’ points across both networks.

On Monday’s announcement, Qatar Airways Group’s Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said,

“This partnership cements our commitment to giving travellers the widest choice of destinations, while providing a seamless, high quality travel experience, which is the goal of both Qatar Airways and RwandAir. Africa is a hugely important market for us and this latest partnership will help support the recovery of international air travel and offer unrivalled connectivity to and from a number of new African destinations.”

Also commenting on the new partnership, RwandAir’s CEO, Yvonne Makolo, added,

“Delivering excellent customer experience is key for us and we know that any travelers flying with Qatar Airways or RwandAir, as part of the agreement, will continue to receive the same unrivalled level of service they’re used to from both airlines.”

Qatar Airways offers five weekly flights between Doha and Kigali via Entebbe with a fuel-efficient and sustainable Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The airline’s guests can now transit to a variety of additional African destinations via Kigali including Bujumbura, Brazzaville and Libreville.

Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the state of Qatar and from mid-summer 2021 will operate over 1,200 weekly flights to more than 140 destinations, providing more flexible travel options to more global destinations than any other airline. Qatar Airways was named the ‘World’s Best Airline’ in the 2019 World Airline Awards managed by Skytrax as well as the ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’ and ‘World’s Best Business Class.’ The carrier has also been awarded the title for ‘Best Business Class Seat’ in recognition of their ground-breaking Qsuite product which offers a spacious 1-2-1 seat layout and is available on flights to more than 40 destinations including Johannesburg, Frankfurt, New York and Singapore.

Additionally, Qatar Airways is the only carrier to have ever received the prestigious “Skytrax Airline of the Year” title five times. The airline normally serves over 170 global destinations with a fleet of more than 250 modern aircraft. Qatar Airways’ primary hub is located at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
