On Wednesday (November 26, 2025), Porter Airlines announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Nassau, Bahamas (NAS).  This is just the latest addition to Porter’s southern vacation network, which includes destinations in Mexico, Costa Rica and the Cayman Islands.  The new seasonal service to Nassau will increase to daily flights from December 12, 2025.  Direct service to Nassau from Ottawa starts on December 13th, and from Montreal on February 5, 2026.  Flights will be operated with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2, featuring free, fast Wi-Fi onboard.  Porter’s industry-leading elevated economy experience also includes free beer and wine served in glassware and complimentary premium Canadian snacks.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Porter Airlines’ SVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Edmond Eldebs, said,

“Porter is now the better way of getting to The Bahamas. Our distinct approach to service, with genuine, warm hospitality, means that passengers can enter vacation mode long before landing in Nassau.  This is the first of multiple routes that we’re launching this season that will bring Canada and The Bahamas closer together.”

Also commenting on the launch of the new Nassau route, Toronto Pearson’s Chief Commercial Officer, Kurush Minocher, said,

“We’re excited to see Porter Airlines continue to expand its international network from Toronto Pearson. As the leading Canadian gateway to Nassau, this new service strengthens our commitment to over 120,000 passengers who travel between the two cities each year, offering them more choice, more connections, and more opportunities to explore.”

Nassau Airport Development Company’s President and CEO, Vernice Walkine, added,

“On behalf of the team at Lynden Pindling International Airport and our partners at The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation and the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, we are pleased to welcome Porter Airlines to our airport.
