Starting June 5, 2023, PLAY will launch new service between Keflavik Airport in Iceland to Amsterdam Schiphol. The route will operate five times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
On Wednesday (March 22, 2023), PLAY Airlines announced the launch of new service between Keflavik Airport (KEF) in Iceland and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) starting June 5, 2023. The route will operate five times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights to Amsterdam are now bookable on the airline’s website and other distribution channels. As a transatlantic carrier between Europe and North America, PLAY’s Keflavik, Iceland hub is perfectly positioned between the two continents. Inbound customers from Amsterdam will enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity to four U.S. cities, including New York, Boston, Washington DC, and Baltimore, as well as Toronto, Canada.
In Wednesday’s announcement, PLAY’s CEO, Birgir Jónsson, said,

Founded in 2019 by Arnar Magnússon and launched in June 2021, PLAY is a new Iceland-based low-cost carrier (LCC) which operates flights between Iceland and Europe, as well as to North America. The carrier’s core motto is ‘Pay Less PLAY More’, meaning that the airline’s customers spend less on airfare and more while enjoying their holiday destination. PLAY’s fleet of Airbus A320neos and A321neos currently connect customers to 20+ European and U.S. destinations. I n 2023, Play will expand their fleet of Airbus A320/321neos to 10 aircraft, and increase their network to 36 destinations.
