American Airlines has today announced that they will resume direct service between Miami and Caracas, Venezuela as soon as April 30, 2026, pending approval from U.S. and Venezuelan government authorities.

On Thursday (April 9, 2026), American Airlines announced that they are continuing to work with regulators on reinstating nonstop service between the United States and Venezuela. When all government approvals and security checks are complete, American plans to offer daily direct service between Miami (MIA) and Caracas, Venezuela (CCS), with an Embraer E175, as soon as April 30th. The service will be operated by Envoy Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group. Envoy Air’s Embraer E175 (operating as American Eagle) is a dual-class aircraft that offers the opportunity to upgrade passengers’ travel experience with a premium cabin, and features customer-friendly amenities such as Wi-Fi and in-seat power.
In Thursday’s announcement, American airlines’ EVP – American Eagle, Corporate Real Estate and Government Affairs, Nate Gatten, said,
“American was the first airline to announce plans to restart service to Venezuela, and we are encouraged by the progress we’ve made with both governments. We are grateful for the efforts of U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the entire administration to help us reconnect the U.S. with Venezuela. Our return wouldn’t be possible without this strong partnership.”
Also commenting on the restart of Miami-Caracas service, American’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nat Pieper, added,
“American’s Miami hub is the preeminent U.S. gateway to Latin America, and our service to Venezuela is a key part of our history and our future. Our commitment to connecting Venezuela with the U.S. spans more than 30 years, and we look forward to the new opportunities for commerce and strengthened ties with family and friends that our service will provide.”
