On Friday (December 2, 2022), Play Airlines announced the launch of new service to Warsaw, Poland. The carrier will operate two weekly flights on the route from April 3, 2023 through October 2023 with an Airbus A320neo. Warsaw, the capital of Poland, offers a vibrant nightlife, excellent restaurants, museums, landmarks, old town streets and an abundance of shopping opportunities.
In Friday’s announcement, Play Airlines’ CEO, Birgir Jónsson, said,
“Warsaw will be a good addition to our route network for 2023. This is the fifth new destination we have announced in the past weeks. Before, we had announced Athens, Porto, Hamburg and Stockholm. And with the addition of 4 new Airbus A320/321neos to our fleet, which will sum up to 10 aircrafts next year, we are going to make a big splash in the market and offer more people the opportunity to pay less for their flight tickets and spend more on their destinations, or as we say: Pay less, PLAY more.”
Founded in 2019 by Arnar Magnússon and launched in June 2021, PLAY is a new Iceland-based low-cost carrier (LCC) which operates flights between Iceland and Europe, as well as to North America. The carrier’s core motto is ‘pay Less PLAY more’, meaning that the airline’s customers spend less on airfare and more while enjoying their holiday destination. PLAY’s fleet of Airbus A320neos and A321neos currently connect customers to 27 European and U.S. destinations. In 2023, Play will expand their fleet of Airbus A320/321neos to 10 aircraft.
