The company reached several important milestones in the quarter, including the first dividend payment and an order for an additional 30 new Boeing aircraft.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Norwegian’s CEO, Geir Karlsen, said,

This has been a very good quarter, and I would like to extend a big thank you to all our colleagues in both Norwegian and Widerøe who have stuck with us through what is the busiest period of the year. Widerøe's repeated passenger records also deserve recognition, and in September the company had the highest passenger numbers in the company's more than 90-year history.”
During the third quarter, the Norwegian Group had 8.41 million passengers, of which 7.28 million were Norwegian passengers and 1.12 million traveled with Widerøe, with load factors of 88.3 percent for Norwegian, up 0.3 percentage points from last year, and 77.5, a decrease of 0.6 percentage points. Norwegian also expanded their existing Boeing orderbook by exercising an option to purchase an additional 30 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. The carrier’s total orderbook now stands at 80 aircraft.
