Nordic Aviation Capital has signed an agreement with Emerald Airlines for the lease of four ATR 72-600 aircraft. Emerald Airlines is Ireland’s newest regional carrier and operator of Aer Lingus’ regional routes.
On Monday (October 4, 2021), Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced the lease placement of four ATR 72-600s with Ireland’s newest regional carrier Emerald Airlines, which operates regional routes for Aer Lingus. Emerald Airlines has been granted the exclusive franchise for the Aer Lingus regional network from January 1st, 2023 through 2032, and is working with the mainline carrier in respect to an earlier contract start date. Emerald Airlines received their Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Irish Aviation Authority in September 2021.
In Monday’s announcement, Emerald Airlines’ Founder and CEO, Conor McCarthy, said,

Over the coming months we are set to secure additional aircraft, with this agreement bringing us another step closer to that. Also commenting on the lease placement, Nordic Aviation Capital’s CCO, Jim Murphy said,
