On Thursday (November 24, 2022), Lufthansa Cargo announced the launch of new twice weekly Boeing 777F service to Hanoi, doubling their capacity to Vietnam. The inaugural flight between Frankfurt and Hanoi took place on November 2, 2022 with an interim stop in Mumbai, complementing the carrier’s existing service to Ho Chi Minh City. With the new route, Lufthansa Cargo offers 250 tons of capacity weekly from their Frankfurt hub, supporting business to and from Vietnam. Lufthansa Cargo’s Frankfurt hub, the largest in Germany, also provides customers numerous connections by air and road feeder services within Europe and across their wider global network.

In Thursday’s announcement, Lufthansa Cargo’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ashwin Bhat, said,

“With our freighter connection to Ho Chi Minh City, we have been closely connected to the Vietnamese market since 2015. With our station opening in Hanoi in the north of the country and thus in an advantageous location to the economic highway to North and Southeast Asia, we are ideally supplementing our transport offering for our customers with another direct connection to Frankfurt and thus also to our European and global network. Our network is growing with frequencies and destinations to highly demanded routes, including Hanoi, Seoul and Hong Kong. We are delighted to expanding our quality service offer to our customers by connecting economies.”

All Lufthansa Cargo freighter services to Vietnam are operated By AeroLogic with a Boeing 777F. AeroLogic is a joint venture between Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Express established in 2007. Lufthansa Cargo’s long-haul fleet includes 16 Boeing 777F aircraft, five of which are operated by Aerologic. The flights are marketed and flown under a Lufthansa flight number.
